The National School of Speleological Rescue Technicians, a technical body of CNSAS, is entrusted with the task to train, verify and update the CNSAS technicians
adopting the training plan approved by the National Cave Committee.
This
entrustment is specifically about the TSS (rescue cave technician) qualifications that is delegated to the directors
of regional schools, since they belong to SNATSS itself, thereby encouraging
coverage throughout the whole country.
The
qualification of TSS/TR (specialist in recovery techniques), organizing annual
refresh courses which are followed by an examination.
The
qualification of TSS/CO (technician coordinator of operations), organizing a training
course every two years by directing attention to the organizational issues related to the
management of a team both in emergency and in training situations.
The
IRTECS (Regional instructor) qualification, organizing a course every two years
which aims to provide technical and educational skills. The
course follows a period of coaching followed by an examination.
The
INTECS (National instructor) qualification,
organizing a course every two years for INTECS candidates, a coaching period and an
on-going examination. This
procedure has the aim to ensure achievement of advanced level teaching skills.
Technical
updates to the various qualifications are organized as national events. At the
request of delegations, events are organized directly in the applicant areas.
Another
task of SNATSS is to provide educational material. In this respect the work of review,
update and improvement of technical maneuvers is conveyed in the realization of
the new technical manual.
Finally,
at the beginning of every year the SNATSS general meeting is convened, with the
aim to compare experiences and plan the future activities. The participants
include the INTECS, the Directors of the Regional Schools, the Cave Rescue representative
of the Rescue National Committee and also the Coordinators of the CNSAS Commissions are invited.
